  7. with the guidelines in the Special Service Club Manual. With this 
  8. application we apply for renewal as an ARRL Special Service Club for 
  9. the year to come. We have worked closely with our Affiliated Club 
  10. Coordinator throughout the year. Recently we have discussed our successes 
  11. and problems during the past year, reviewed our current strengths 
  12. and weaknesses and agreed on an acceptable program for the coming 
  13. year.

  43. Truly special Amateur Radio clubs are well balanced in their programs 
  44. for serving the community, developing club members' Amateur Radio 
  45. skills and social activities, striving each year to build on their 
  46. successes to improve their effectiveness. The objective of the ARRL's 
  47. Special Service Club program is to help good clubs organize and focus 
  48. their efforts on those things that really count. Being an SSC should 
  49. mean that members have certain skills, that the club as a group has 
  50. the ability to provide service inside and outside the Amateur Radio 
  51. community, and that it does so when needed.
  52. To be renewed as an ARRL Special Service Club, your club must be actively 
  53. involved in each of the following areas. Please describe your planned 
  54. programs and activities in each area to your ACC.

  56. __B. Public relations 
  57. __C. Emergency communications 
  58. __D. Technical advancement 
  59. __E. Operating activities 
  60. __F. Miscellaneous activities 
  61. __G. ARRL membership recruitment
  62.  
  63. Maintaining close ties with your section's ARRL Field Organization 
  64. is an important aspect of your SSC commitment. Your ARRL members should 
  65. be encouraged to seek official ARRL appointments: Official Relay Station, 
  66. Official Emergency Station, Official Observer, Public Information 
  67. Assistant, Official Bulletin Station, and Assistant Technical Coordinator. 
  68. Please contact your Section Manager for appointment information and 
  69. applications. (Note: official appointments are not required as conditions 
  70. for SSC acceptance or renewal).
  71. Important: Your renewal as an ARRL Special Service Club requires only 
  72. that you discuss your successes and problems last year, your current 
  73. assessment of your strengths and weaknesses and your plans for the 
  74. year ahead with your Affiliated Club Coordinator. He or she will work 
  75. with you in setting your club's course for the next twelve months 
  76. and, when you've come to an agreement, will sign this form and forward 
  77. it to ARRL Headquarters.
